MapRouter vs Mapbox

Mapbox has a larger free tier and better data in places, plus routing. MapRouter gives full access with no card on file, lets an AI agent set everything up without being able to spend, and stops at what you loaded instead of billing overage.

Mapbox runs strong official MCP servers: a hosted server with about 15 tools and OAuth, and a DevKit server that creates access tokens. You can try them on a Mapbox account without a card, within its trial limits, and with billing set up they’re a good choice.
